Mo Gilligan said there is “no better place to perform in the world than Cardiff”. Mo, known as ‘Mo The Comedian’, was full of praise for the audience in the Welsh capital when he took to Instagram after his show at Cardiff’s Utilita Arena on Friday, April 4.

Mo is one of the UK’s most popular comedians who shot to fame after Drake quoted some of his real-life observational comedy clips on social media. Since then he has hosted his own Channel 4 show, ‘The Lateish Show with Mo Gilligan’, sat as a judge on the Masked Singer and the Masked Dancer, co-hosted a show with Big Narstie and hosted the BRIT awards twice.

After his Cardiff show the comedian wrote on his Instagram story: “I’ve been coming here since I was a child and there is no better place to perform in the world than Cardiff. Thank you to everyone who came out to support me tonight. I enjoyed tonight so so much.”

Mo’s mum is from Barry and the former BRIT awards host has previously spoken about his Welsh roots and fond memories of holidaying here when he appeared on Rob Brydon’s podcast, Brydon &. Mo revealed that both his mum and grandad were born in Barry and he still has family living in Grangetown and Cadoxton.
